Discovering self and one another through the art of film
Ryan’s journey as a storyteller is deeply rooted in his life experiences. Growing up as a military brat gave him an appreciation for the various cultures and people throughout the world. After a brain surgery ended his boxing career and a burst spinal fracture left him temporarily paralyzed, he developed a whole new appreciation and curiosity for life. These profound experiences have shaped him into the writer he is today—one who seeks to inspire others to pursue their dreams.
As an emerging screenwriter, Ryan brings a distinct voice that blends raw emotional depth, irreverent humor, and thought-provoking storytelling. His scripts challenge perceptions and compel audiences to confront their own place in the universe, weaving together grounded realism, philosophical undertones, and deeply human struggles. Since studying film at UNC Charlotte he has written three feature-length films, three short films, and an hour-long TV pilot. Whether diving into the mind of a fighter battling his demons, or an actor searching for meaning beyond fame, his stories explore identity, purpose and transformation. Ryan continues to develop original screenplays that leave audiences questioning not just the characters’ journeys, but their own.
